This website is dedicated to my father, his generation and the generations before them. It is a place where people can come and hear their stories as told by them.
The idea came to me just after my father’s death in March 2012. In the period following his death I had a chance to spend a lot of time with family and family friends of that generation and before and hear the stories of their trials, tribulations and of the good times they had long ago. These stories have been told many times before and maybe it was my current state of mind, but I found myself listening more closely and I was intrigued to hear about the details of how life was 50-60 years ago. In my own humble opinion these stories are historical gems.
It occurred to me that that generation and before didn’t have easy access to the technologies to document their daily lives as we have today and all those memories can so easily be lost in time, like tears in rain (Blade Runner 1982). We have the means now to capture those stories and share them and so that is what I am setting out to do.
I would like this to eventually become an open channel for these stories and I will be posting up ways you can send me your own videos shortly.
